SOSEC Nepal is working giving high priority and sensitivity to the rights of women, children, and youth empowerment. It works with various development partner organizations to obtain the rights of women, children, the Raute community, marginalized people and communities which are highly impacted by discrimination and inequality in Dailekh, Kalikot, and Surkhet districts of Karnali province, and Achham district of Sudurpaschim province of Nepal, using the integrated development approach. The organization is also adopting a zero-tolerance policy on violence against women, children, and corruption.
SOSEC Nepal is going to implement project named Nepal Livelihood and Resilience Program (NLRP-II) in Bhagabatimai Rural Municipality in Dailekh with From July 2018 to June 2023 with the technical support of Caritas Nepal and financial support from Caritas Australia and Australian Aid. The project Nepal Livelihood and Resilience Program Phase II (NLRP II) is implementing with the aim of enhancing the social well-being and resilience of vulnerable farming households and communities. To achieve this overarching objective, the project focuses on three thematic areas. The first thematic area is food security and resilience to climate change. The end of project outcome is improving food security of smallholder farming households from homestead production, and improved resilience from climate change”. The second thematic area is “increasing household incomes”. The end of project outcome is “improved income in enterprising farmer households due to effectively pursuing enterprises with the support of community cooperatives”. The third thematic area is “improving social protection”. The end of project outcome is “improved social protection situation and child rights situation in the communities with participation of women and children”.
SOSEC Nepal is looking for qualified, dynamic, competent, and self-motivated Nepali citizens in for the Nepal Livelihood and Resilience Program (NLRP) project for immediate deployment to the field, subject to donor approval, for the following positions:

Designation: Jr. Program Assistant (Agriculture)
Number of Position: One (1) (Female Only)
The Jr. Program Assistant will have the primary responsibility of leading and executing the agriculture/IPM/homestead as well as support to implement social sector activities and reporting.
The Program Assistant will provide technical assistance and technical backstopping at group/household level Furthermore, they will assume responsibility for overall data management, and documentation of project-related activities.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Program (Enterprise and cooperative development including agriculture).
- Implement agriculture/enterprise program and cooperative development as well as Agriculture activities as per program DIP.
- Follow annual activity schedules and before that discuss with partners and within the team.
- Familiarize with project approval budget, and activities and ensure that all budget lines are properly coded and implement program activities as per program implementation guidelines.
- Preparation of monthly, yearly, and yearly narrative reports in prescribed format and submission to the Field Office Program Coordinator/Program Officer.
- Conduct regular enterprise group level meetings/workshops, and training (Kitchen gardening, Agriculture Leaning Center, livestock) as per the guideline. Assist in developing business plan development and record keeping at community/group. Conduct regular group meetings.
- Provide guidance to farmers on various available Government schemes/subsidies and how to access them and identify opportunities to leverage and integrate existing schemes into project activities to maximize the impact of the project and drive project sustainability.
- Look after the Enterprise and Cooperative sector activities including social activities at the project location.
- Prepare individual monthly activities plan based on the project plan and forward it to Province Manager for approval.
- Prepare monthly activities report based on the monthly plan and submit it to line manager.
- Prepare necessary supporting documents to prepare half-yearly and annual reports.
- Develop good coordination and linkages with local-level Governments.
- Facilitate the group/cooperative to organize the social activities established, governance, complaint handling, safeguarding, and gender policies.
- Facilitate and orient digital agro-systems, apps, and applications for farmers, and the community.
- Support to Program Officer to prepare a technical report of the project.
- Provide support to the Program Officers, MEAL and M & E Officers, and other senior authorities.
- Frequently field visits/door-to-door visits and monitoring visits and provide technical assistance/backstopping.
- Reporting
- Prepare monthly activities, field visits, event reports & case stories and submit to Province Manager CC to Jr. Program Officer.
- Thematic report: Prepare the event reports & case stories and submit them to the Jr. Program Officer.
- Work together for periodic/half-yearly and yearly report preparation.
- Minimal requirements
- Minimum 10+2/JTA/diploma in agriculture or social science or development related fields; with training in IPM farmer facilitator/IPM ToT/Agriculture.
- Minimum of 2-3-years relevant program implementation and report writing experience in a professional environment, preferably in livelihood sector.
- Excellent knowledge of and experience in reporting writing and case stories, good practices prepare and presentation.
- Strong communication and influencing skills using evidence-based methods.
- Excellent understanding of data and information phases/needs for program management and decision-making.
- Excellent ability to articulate oral and written technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with both quantitative and qualitative methods, including guidance/tool/SOP development, and facilitating community-level and key stakeholder KIIs & FGDs.
- Experience with KoBo Toolbox or other ODK software is desirable.
- Having Motor bike driving licenses is an advantage.
- Fluent in both English and Nepali.

Designation: Jr. Program Assistant (Social)

The Jr. Program Assistant will have the primary responsibility of leading and executing the Cooperative Development/Management, social sector activities including child club management/activities as well as support team t to implement Agriculture/enterprise sector activities and prepare sector’s event report.
The Jr. Program Assistant will provide technical assistance and technical backstopping at cooperative, group/household level, child club. Furthermore, they will assume responsibility for overall data management, and documentation of project-related activities.
- Main duties and responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility for taking lead in Cooperative Development, Social Sector activities as well as School child club activities.
- Support team members to conduct the other program activities such as agriculture (Homestead, IPM FFS, kitchen gardening, learning center), and enterprise sector (secondary).
- Follow annual activity schedules and guidelines and before that discuss them within the team.
- Familiarize with project approval budget, and activities and ensure that all budget lines are properly coded and implement program activities as per program implementation guidelines.
- Prepare sectoral and individual activities plan and implement the activities (close coordination with the team) and forward to Field Office Charge for approval.
- Prepare the event reports and support for half-yearly and yearly reporting.
- Prepare monthly activities report based on the monthly plan and submit it to line manager.
- Prepare necessary supporting documents to prepare half-yearly and annual reports.
- Develop good coordination and linkages with local-level Governments.
- Support to volunteer of Help Desk to keep records and referral system and documentation.
- Coordination with Municipal level Judicial and mediation center and focal persons, formal and informal networks at ward and municipal level.
- Facilitate the group/community/club/ward/Municipal level training program.
- Conduct the Cooperative, ward level activities, and school child club activities and assist and technical support to the cooperative as well as school child club.
- Door-to-door visits and group visits provide technical support to the community people.
- Close coordination with the program team, stakeholders, school, and cooperative at the municipal level.
- Support team members to facilitate/conduct other activities under the program.
- Support to Program Officer/Field Office In-charge to prepare technical report of the project.
- Provide support to the Program Officers, MEAL and M & E Officers, and other senior authorities.
- Support to MEAL team to conduct the Baseline survey.
- Contribute to the preparation of periodic project progress reports.
- Ensure the quality and confidentiality of project data and information.
- Document case studies, good practices, and create presentation materials and visible materials.
- Reporting
- Prepare monthly activities, and field visit reports and submit them to the Field In-Charge.
- Thematic Report: Prepare the event reports, and case stories, and submit them to the Program Officer (PO), District Program Coordinator (Bardiya), Program Coordinator, and MEAL Officers for cluster reporting.
- Support the team for quarterly, half-yearly, and yearly narrative reports at the province and Central level Office.
- Update the data as per the MEAL system.
- Work together for periodic/half-yearly and annual report preparation.
- Minimal requirements
- Minimum 10+2 management or social science or development related fields; working experience child club management, cooperative development/management, social protection/social issues.
